Jam-Filled Puff Pastry Parcels with Egg Wash
Golden puff pastry parcels filled with fruit jam and dusted with powdered sugar.
These simple puff pastry bites wrap a small spoonful of jam in crisp pastry. Keep the pastry cold, seal the edges well and avoid overfilling so the jam stays inside as it bakes. Heat oven to 200°C (400°F). Roll pastry to about 3 mm and cut into 5 x 10 cm rectangles. Place 1 teaspoon jam in the centre of each rectangle. Fold pastry over and press edges with a fork. Arrange on a parchment-lined tray and brush tops lightly with beaten egg. Bake 15 to 20 minutes until well risen and golden. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar.
