Effective date: September 27, 2026
FeastDelights respects the intellectual property rights of recipe creators, food photographers, writers, publishers, and other copyright owners. We expect our contributors, partners, and readers to respect those rights as well.
This policy explains how to report material on FeastDelights that you believe infringes your copyright, how we may respond to a valid notice, and how an affected party may submit a counter-notification when material has been removed or restricted because of a mistake or misidentification.
This policy is intended to provide a fair and practical copyright-review process consistent with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, commonly called the DMCA, and other applicable laws. It does not constitute legal advice.
Copyright and Content on FeastDelights
The original expression published on FeastDelights may be protected by copyright. Depending on the material, this can include:
- Original recipe introductions and personal commentary
- Original written cooking instructions and explanations
- Food photographs and other original images
- Videos, illustrations, graphics, and downloadable materials
- Original articles, guides, collections, and editorial features
- The original selection, arrangement, and presentation of website content
Copyright does not necessarily protect basic facts, culinary ideas, general cooking methods, commonly used techniques, or simple lists of ingredients. A recipe may contain both unprotected elements and protected original expression. Whether a particular use constitutes infringement depends on the content, context, applicable exceptions, and relevant law.
FeastDelights does not claim ownership of material belonging to third parties merely because it is mentioned, linked to, reviewed, or lawfully displayed on the website.
Before Submitting a Copyright Notice
A copyright notice should be submitted only by:
- The owner of the allegedly infringed copyright; or
- A person legally authorized to act on the copyright owner’s behalf.
Before submitting a notice, please consider whether the disputed use may be authorized by the copyright owner or permitted by law. Depending on the circumstances, lawful uses may include fair use, quotation, commentary, criticism, news reporting, teaching, research, licensing, or use of material in the public domain.
If your concern relates to attribution, recipe inspiration, factual accuracy, permissions, or another editorial matter rather than copyright infringement, please use our Contact Us page.
How to Submit a Copyright Infringement Notice
Send copyright infringement notices by email to:
Email: info@feastdelights.com
Subject line: DMCA Copyright Infringement Notice
Submitting a general message without the information listed below may prevent us from locating the material or evaluating your request. To help us respond efficiently, include each required element in the body of your email or in a clearly readable attachment.
Required Information in a DMCA Notice
A copyright infringement notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature
Include the signature of the copyright owner or the person authorized to act on the owner’s behalf. Typing your full legal name at the end of an electronic notice may serve as an electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work
Clearly identify the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed. If your notice covers multiple copyrighted works available at one online location, you may provide a representative list.
Whenever possible, include the title of the work, its author or owner, its original publication location, and a link to or copy of the original material.
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material
Identify the material you want FeastDelights to remove or restrict and provide information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it.
Include the exact FeastDelights URL for each disputed item. A homepage link, category page, search result, screenshot, or general description may not be sufficient if it does not identify the specific material.
- Your contact information
Provide information reasonably sufficient for FeastDelights to contact you, including:
- Your full name
- Your organization, if applicable
- Your mailing address
- Your telephone number
- Your email address
- A good-faith statement
Include the following statement or a substantially similar statement:
“I have a good-faith belief that the disputed use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”
- An accuracy and authority statement
Include the following statement or a substantially similar statement:
“I declare, under penalty of perjury, that the information in this notice is accurate and that I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.”
A copyright registration number, licensing record, publication history, or other supporting evidence may help us understand your claim, but you should not send sensitive documents that are unrelated to the complaint.
What Happens After We Receive a Notice
FeastDelights reviews copyright notices in good faith. When we receive a substantially complete notice, we may:
- Confirm that the identified material appears on FeastDelights
- Request clarification or missing information
- Temporarily restrict access to the disputed material
- Remove or disable access to the material
- Notify the author, contributor, or other affected party
- Provide the affected party with a copy or summary of the notice
- Preserve records relevant to the complaint
- Take any other action we consider appropriate under applicable law
Submitting a notice does not guarantee that content will be removed. FeastDelights may consider the completeness of the notice, the ownership information supplied, applicable licenses, fair use, public-domain status, and other relevant circumstances.
Our administrative review is not a judicial determination of copyright ownership, infringement, or liability.
Counter-Notification Procedure
If material you provided to FeastDelights was removed or restricted because of a copyright notice, and you believe the action resulted from a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification.
Send the counter-notification to:
Email: info@feastdelights.com
Subject line: DMCA Counter-Notification
Your counter-notification must contain:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the removed or restricted material
Identify the material that was removed or disabled and state where it appeared before the action was taken. Include the original FeastDelights URL whenever possible.
- A statement under penalty of perjury
Include the following statement or a substantially similar statement:
“I declare, under penalty of perjury, that I have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification of the material.”
- Your identity and contact information
Provide your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- Consent to jurisdiction and service of process
If your address is in the United States, state that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located.
If your address is outside the United States, state that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for any judicial district in which the relevant service provider may be found.
You must also state that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original infringement notice or that person’s authorized agent.
What Happens After a Counter-Notification
When applicable, FeastDelights may send a copy of a complete counter-notification to the person who submitted the original copyright notice.
That person may then notify us that a court action has been filed seeking to prevent the affected party from engaging in the allegedly infringing activity. Subject to applicable law, FeastDelights may restore the material no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after receiving a valid counter-notification unless we first receive notice that such a court action has been filed.
FeastDelights may decline to restore material when restoration is not required by law, the material violates another FeastDelights policy, publication rights cannot be verified, or another lawful basis supports keeping the material unavailable.
Because submitting a counter-notification may have legal consequences, consider obtaining independent legal advice before sending one.
Repeat Infringement
FeastDelights does not knowingly encourage copyright infringement.
When appropriate and within our control, we may restrict future submissions, end a contributor relationship, suspend access, or take other reasonable action concerning a person who repeatedly submits infringing material.
We may consider valid infringement notices, counter-notifications, retractions, court decisions, the nature of the material, and other relevant circumstances when determining whether repeat infringement has occurred.
Retractions and Resolved Complaints
If you submitted a copyright notice and later resolve the dispute, determine that the notice was submitted in error, or authorize the disputed use, please send a written retraction to info@feastdelights.com.
Your retraction should:
- Identify the original complaint
- Identify the affected URL or material
- State clearly that you are withdrawing the infringement notice
- Include your full name and electronic or physical signature
A retraction does not guarantee that material will be restored if another legal, editorial, contractual, or policy-based reason prevents publication.
Misrepresentations
Copyright notices and counter-notifications are legal communications. Knowingly making material misrepresentations about whether content is infringing or was removed through mistake or misidentification may expose the sender to liability, including damages, costs, and attorneys’ fees.
Do not submit a copyright notice to resolve an unrelated disagreement, suppress criticism, remove unfavorable but lawful commentary, or claim exclusive rights over unprotected facts, ideas, ingredients, or ordinary cooking methods.
Privacy and Disclosure
Information submitted in a copyright notice or counter-notification may be shared with the person who posted or supplied the disputed material, the original complainant, FeastDelights service providers, professional advisers, hosting providers, or government authorities when reasonably necessary to review the matter or comply with the law.
Do not include confidential or sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary for the notice or counter-notification.
For more information about how FeastDelights handles personal information, review our Privacy Policy.
